Built from the
chemistry up.

Altris was founded at Uppsala University on the science that makes sodium-ion commercially viable. Today we are the European sodium-ion industrial standard — the reference platform for partners, validators, and investors evaluating European sodium-ion.

Founded at Uppsala University.
Built for European industry.

Altris was founded on chemistry developed at Uppsala University — one of Europe’s leading electrochemistry research institutions. Our mission is to establish Prussian White as the European sodium-ion industrial standard: industrially validated, supply-chain secure, and ready to scale.

Our journey began in 2015 when Ronnie Mogensen, a master’s student at the Ångström Advanced Battery Centre at Uppsala University, began investigating sodium-ion chemistry as a viable alternative to lithium. He partnered with Associate Professor Reza Younesi and Associate Professor William Brant to develop the initial Prussian White synthesis process.

By 2017, the trio founded Altris to commercialise the technology. A decade of research has since become an industrial reality: a pilot production line in Uppsala, a cathode-active-material facility in Kolín, and validation programmes with the European automotive, grid, and defence partners that will scale sodium-ion to industrial volumes.

Investors

The industrial proof is the investment thesis.

Investors in Altris are backed by the same validation signals that convince the world’s largest automotive and industrial manufacturers. This is not a bet on future chemistry — it is capital deployed against a proven platform.

  • 01

    Market position.

Only European producer of Prussian White CAM at scale. Sodium-ion is emerging precisely as European battery sovereignty becomes policy and procurement priority.

  • 02

    Commercial traction.

Active collaboration agreements with Clarios, German automotive OEMs, and Draslovka — Europe’s largest industrial buyers have already validated the technology.

  • 03

    Policy tailwind.

EU Battery Regulation, Critical Raw Materials Act, Industrial Accelerator Act, and European Battery Alliance create a structural preference for domestic, responsibly-sourced chemistry. Altris qualifies.

  • 04

    Supply chain moat.

A 100% European material supply chain cannot be replicated by other technologies. Permanent competitive advantage in the European market.

The ecosystem that validates the standard.

Industrial credibility flows through partnerships. Our partners are the proof that Altris chemistry is production-ready.

Clarios

Global automotive battery leader. Collaboration on low-voltage sodium-ion.

Stora Enso

European forestry group. Hard-carbon anode material from European wood.

SENEC

German residential and commercial energy storage. Grid and stationary application development.

Draslovka

Specialty chemicals. Prussian White precursor supply and the Kolín cathode facility.

Volvo

Automotive & transport OEM.

Oscilion

Swedish defence technology. Sodium-ion power for electronic warfare systems.

Maersk

Global logistics and shipping. Stationary and transport energy storage.
